Royals FanFest 2013

There is no off-season for a baseball fan. Following the success of MLB All-Star FanFest this past summer, BaAM returned to the Midwest in January 2013 to convert the Overland Park Convention Center into Royals FanFest, in collaboration with the Kansas City Royals.

Royals FanFest was opened to the public on Saturday, January 19 and fans came out in droves to get one-on-one access to their favorite players and the management team, great deals on Royals fan gear, and a chance to impress their friends and family with skill-testing interactives. The event boasted a fully-programmed Main Stage, multiple Autograph Stages, a Royals Baseball Diamond built to scale, Batting Cages, Pitching Cages and Little Sluggerrr’s mini interactive activities for the youngest of Royals fans.  For their 2013 event, the Royals doubled the total number of autograph stages.  Players like Billy Butler, Ervin Santana, Alex Gordon, and Bruce Chen were part of the SEVEN hours of autograph signings, spanning SIX autograph stages.

BaAM started working alongside Don Costante, Megan Wellborn and the rest of the Royals’ Event Presentation Team shortly after the 2012 MLB season came to a close, to plan for this exciting and much-anticipated fan event. Our supervisors were onsite to manage the installation schedule and provide support during the event.  In the weeks leading up to Royals FanFest, our Design and Project Services teams provided logistics and design consultation and developed floorplans - and ceiling plans - for the final event set-up.

Needless to say, Royals fans love to show their support for their favorite baseball team.  Final attendance numbers show that more than 9000 fans came out to celebrate the game and cheer on their home team.
