BaAM Goes for Gold with Sunny View P.S.!

Over the past few weeks Sunny View Public School, a special education setting for children with physical and health needs, has hosted “Sunny View Goes for Gold!”.  This series of events honouring the 2010 Olympics and Paralympics have given the school’s 135 students, aged 4-15, a unique opportunity to connect personally with the events in Vancouver and is designed to inspire children of all abilities to strive for their best every day.

On March 4, 2010, these activities culminated in a school-wide celebration which included a roller sledge hockey game for staff and students, as well as appearances from the Maple Leafs' Carlton the Bear and inspirational wheelchair basketball player Shayne Smith.  BaAM was honoured to be a part of these incredible events by lending some equipment and decor and by helping to turn their gymnasium into a Winter Games wonderland.  Highlights from the game were featured on Rogers Daytime Toronto and the Global National.
