Major Series of Putting

When the Major Series of Putting [MSOP] championship series opened Fall 2017, it was described as "golf’s answer to the World Series of Poker." A pop-up putting course of epic proportions, the MSOP stadium was located just off the Vegas strip. The facility incorporated 18 holes plus a feature play-off green conceived by Jack Nicklaus’ design company, and it featured all the qualities one would expect of a high-end fan experience, from an air-conditioned, climate controlled glass clubhouse and giant LED scoreboard to indoor and outdoor bars, and a practice green.

BaAM joined the MSOP planning team two years in advance of the stadium’s opening. BaAM collaborated with leaders in the sports and entertainment industries, including Lune Rouge, Populous, and Nicklaus Design. As Construction Manager, BaAM was responsible for vendor research, construction details, scheduling, and budgeting as concepts and designs for this mega-sized temporary stadium were established. BaAM managed the procurement of all elements as well as the integration of audio, video, lighting, theming, décor, and wayfinding signage within the facility.

Construction began on August 28, 2017 in a vacant lot behind Planet Hollywood. By the end of October, the MSOP stadium was ready for action. BaAM was on site through it all, managing operations for the 10-day championship series and providing event services such as IT and security. Following the 10-day tournament, some suggested that the MSOP changed the definition of golf and brought more players to the game.
