BaAM Hits Grand Slam with RBI's 'Wanna Play?' Clinic

BaAM’s outdoor baseball interactives and graphics created every future major leaguer’s most hoped-for training facility with batting cages, pitching cages and a mini baseball diamond open for practice at the Rangers Youth Ballpark in Arlington, Texas. The various elements were installed in coordination with the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) “Wanna Play?” clinic.  The program reaches out to local youth and encourages boys and girls between the ages of 6 – 12 to increase their overall fitness and nutrition education through the sport of baseball.

More than 500 local children attended the event held on the same day as Game 3 of the World Series.  They were joined by former Texas Rangers Jeff Russel, Pete O’Brien and Steve Buechele.  Also attending the event was Orlando Hudson, who met with a number of the clinic’s participants for his Around the Mound talk – sharing past experiences and bits of advice.

In advance of the event, BaAM provided project planning and designed site layouts incorporating our various interactives.  BaAM’s crew then oversaw the installation, daily events and final dismantle to ensure every step of the day ran smoothly.
