Ray Salverda Project Director

It wouldn’t be surprising if the phrase “book deal” were to come to mind when you first meet Ray and learn about the types of projects that he’s worked on during his more than 20 years’ experience in the entertainment industry.

The story of Ray’s career begins as it does for many of us at BaAM – in live Theatre.  Since diving into the industry, initially as a Theatre Technician, Ray has worked as a Production Manager or Project Manager for some of the most well-known arts organizations, including Banff Centre for the Arts, Tapestry Music Theatre, The Canadian Stage Company, Mirvish Productions, Soulpepper Theatre Co., and LuminaTO Festival where he was Production Manager for the theatre and dance aspects of the festival.

If you were to delve more deeply into Ray’s story, you’d discover that he’s one of those multi-dimensional characters.  Someone with extensive practical experience, but one who has also given back to those emerging in the industry.  Ray has been a faculty member at Ryerson University, Sheridan College, Humber College, and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.  He has also participated on a number of panels and workshops shedding light on the business of event and entertainment to both students and practicing professionals.

It’s no wonder that the stories he tells are definite page-turners and the projects that he oversees at BaAM as Project Director keep the adventures coming.
